From New York to Rieupeyroux by way of Rotterdam, Rodez, Leerdam, Aalsmeer, Heesselt, 's Hertogenbosch and Dallas, I have been blessed to exhibit and sell my work in many different places in 2023. It does not matter if it was in a big city like New York (although this was definitely a dream come true) or in a small village, each events led to profound conversations. It is in particular true for my series Forty Plus, an ode to sensuality and femininity above 40+, which has spoken to so many women from 40 to 90+ years old all with different backgrounds, stories and lives. I will also forever cherish the testimonies I received during the opening of the “Rodez”exhibition at La Menuiserie where I presented Oh les beaux jours, a series made in the house of my late grand-parents. So many people where eager to share with me their tender souvenirs of the joie de vivre of my grand-father, his dedication to his craft as baker and to music and the discreet but strong image of my grand-mother. Last but not least 2023 was the year of the first collaboration with Rudi Nieuwenhuis who succesfully gave life (and magic) to images of my series Hemicrania-Disambiguation. A first experience that asked for more.
In 2024, two rendez-vous (for now) on the agenda:
*Oh les beaux jours, Galerie Waterbolk, Utrecht (NL) from March 25th to March 31st .
*Forty Plus, Centre Culturel Aveyron Ségala Viaur from May 3rd to June 26th.
And hopefully before the end of 24 my ongoing series Les souliers dorés will be finished and ready to be seen in The Netherlands, France or anywhere else.
My love and gratitude to all the people who made this year such a special one. THANK YOU!!
